Privacy Policy

Effective 29 September 2026

The short version: Subwall does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no server and no connection to your bank. Everything you add stays on your iPhone or iPad.

Who we are

Subwall (“the app”) is a subscription tracker for iPhone and iPad made by Christian Tania, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app and this website.

What the app stores, and where

To work, Subwall saves the following only on your device:

  • The subscriptions you add: name, price, currency, how often it renews, payment dates, category, color, free-trial dates, status (active, paused or cancelled), notes, and what it’s paid with, if you fill that in.
  • Where each tile hangs on your wall, and price changes you record.
  • A logo photo, if you choose one for a custom subscription.
  • Your settings, such as your main currency, reminder time, room theme, light switch, Face ID lock and app icon.
  • Whether Subwall Pro is active, so the app can open without checking every time.

We never receive this information, and we can’t see it. The “Paid with” field is free text you write yourself, such as “Visa •1234”. Please don’t enter full card numbers, security codes or passwords: Subwall never needs them.

What we don’t collect

  • No account or sign-in
  • No analytics or tracking
  • No advertising
  • No bank or card connection

Subwall contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking, and it does not use your data to track you across other apps or websites. It has no servers of its own and never reads your bank, cards or email. Its only internet request of its own is for public exchange rates (see below), and only if you use more than one currency. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

Exchange rates

If you track subscriptions in more than one currency, Subwall converts totals into your main currency. For that, it downloads the European Central Bank’s daily reference rates from the public Frankfurter service (frankfurter.dev), at most once a day. The request asks only for the current rates: it contains nothing about you or your subscriptions, and there is no account or identifier. Like any website, that service can see your device’s IP address when it answers. If you use a single currency, Subwall never makes this request.

Reminders

Renewal and free-trial reminders are local notifications: your device schedules them itself. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else to deliver them. You can turn them off in the app’s Settings, per subscription, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Subwall.

Face ID

If you turn on Face ID lock (a Subwall Pro feature), the app asks iOS to check it’s you when you come back to it. Face ID is handled entirely by Apple: your face data stays in your iPhone’s Secure Enclave, and Subwall only receives a yes or no.

Photos

To use your own logo for a custom subscription, you pick a photo with the iOS photo picker. Subwall only gets the one photo you choose, and it stays on your device. The app can’t see the rest of your library.

When you use Share your wall, the picture is created on your device, with prices hidden unless you turn them on. It goes only where you choose to send it, and the service you share it with (for example Instagram or Messages) handles it under its own privacy policy. If you choose Save Image, iOS asks for permission to add photos to your library. This is add-only: Subwall can’t see or read any photos in your library.

Purchases

Subwall Pro, whether Pro Yearly, Pro Monthly or Lifetime, is bought through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes every payment, free trial and renewal; we never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app only receives confirmation from Apple that Pro is active, so it can turn on the extra features. Apple’s handling of your purchase is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Links to other services

Some subscriptions have a Manage or cancel link that opens that service’s own website. What happens there is covered by that service’s privacy policy, not this one.

Backups

If you back up your iPhone or iPad with iCloud Backup or to a computer, iOS may include Subwall’s data in that backup, under the settings you chose with Apple. We don’t have access to your backups.

Deleting your data

You can delete any subscription in the app: this removes its tile, reminders and history. Settings → Danger Zone → Reset All Data deletes all of them at once. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Because we don’t keep a copy, there’s nothing else to delete.

Children

Subwall doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.

This website

This website has no cookies, analytics or trackers. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may process technical information such as your IP address to deliver and secure the site, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever meant collecting data, we would ask for your permission in the app first.
